The American Dream Needs a New Foundation.
The U.S. is short an estimated 4 million homes, and the construction industry's productivity has been declining for decades. We can't solve a 21st-century crisis with 20th-century methods. It's time to build differently.
The Building Train was founded on a single, driving principle: to fundamentally reduce the cost of being human. We saw a world grappling with a severe housing shortage of 4 million homes in the U.S. alone and a construction industry caught in a productivity crisis, unable to build efficiently or affordably. Instead of making incremental improvements to a broken system, we chose to rethink the process from first principles, starting with the most basic components of a home.
Our solution is not just a new tool, but a new industrial paradigm: on-site manufacturing. The Building Train is a platform centered on a mobile, distributed factory, the Building Machine, that automates the entire structural shell of a home using just two ubiquitous materials: concrete and rebar. By radically simplifying the process and "deleting the part," we are creating a scalable, defensible, and desperately needed solution to make high-quality housing abundant and attainable.

Our Mission: To Reduce the Cost of Being Human.
Housing is the single largest expense in most people's lives, yet it remains one of the last essential industries to be fundamentally transformed by technology. By radically reducing the cost of construction, we can increase the supply of quality housing and make it more attainable for everyone.
This isn't just about building homes. It's about building a future where the basic need for shelter is a smaller burden, freeing up human potential for everything else. If you are driven to solve one of the biggest challenges of our time, join us.
